Farm to Table (Runner): A Quilting Tutorial

Farm to Table (Runner): A Quilting Tutorial

The construction of the table runner is simple– a rectangular piece of fabric with the collaged vegetables on both ends, quilted and bound.  I also added decorative embroidery stitches around the edges by hand to finish of the project.  My table runner measures 60″ x 17″ (I trimmed it down from the original size of 60″ x 22″).  Here are additional details about the project:

•The background fabric is from Tilda~”Vase Collection” in green

•The 1/4″ binding is “Autumn Days” by Makower UK

•The backing fabric is ” Vintage Farm Life” by Robert Kaufman

•The “Farm to Table” veggie pattern is designed by me and is available through CollageQuilter.com

Of course, the cherry on top of every great project is the quilting!  In this video, you will learn how I quilted the table runner using my BERNINA Q 16, including the type of thread and needle I recommend, as well as the stitch pattern.  I hope this is helpful to you as you make your own table runner!
